Panahi’s movie ‘Three Faces’ wins Best Film award at International Antalya Film Festival

Iranian director Jafar Panahi’s film “Three Faces” has won the Best Film award on the 55th International Antalya Film Festival.

The festival’s ultimate ceremony took place at the Glass Pyramid Congress and Exhibition Center on Oct. 5.

“The competition movies drew a massive turnout. We looked for peace, we became refugees and we came collectively with 1,two hundred guests. Some 34,900 people watched the films,” stated Menderes Türel, mayor of the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, which hosted the competition.

“Three Faces” outperformed 10 different films for the award.

Samal Yeslyamova, performing within the Russian-Kazakhstani drama movie directed by means of Sergey Dvortsevoy, received the award for Best Actress.

Thirteen-yr-vintage Zain al-Rafeea, became provided Best Actor for the Lebanese film “Capernaum.”

The award for Best Director was given to Japanese director Hirokazu Koreeda, for guiding the film “Shoplifters.”

Iconic Turkish musician İbrahim Tatlıses received the Honor Award.

Tatlıses made his first appearence on screen with “Ayağında Kundura” in 1978, which is the call of his first album published in 1977. After freeing several hit albums within the 80s, his popularity earned him extra apperances on-display. Throughout his film career, Tatlıses directed 20 films, wrote 3 films and acted in 36 films.

Turkish comedian, screenwriter and actor Cem Yılmaz and acclaimed Turkish director Ferzan Özpetek had been also given the Lifetime Achievement Award at this yr’s competition.

The honorary awards of the festival had been provided to Hungarian director Bela Tarr, Turkish actress Itır Esen and manufacturer Ömer Vargı.
